Our Mission

Hello from the TechBox crew!

We are a small team of engineers and educators who are passionate about electronics, coding, and engineering. Our mission is to change the game by making engineering and computer science fun and unintimidating. Initial experiences with DIY electronics and computer science can be frustrating. Libraries may be missing, software revisions may be inconsistent, or the instructions provided may no longer be accurate or complete. TechBox seeks to fix these frustrations, as all of our guides and libraries are written, controlled, and supported by us. Our all-inclusive kits come with the hardware, software, and the easy-to-follow instructions needed to turn each kit into the project of your (or your children's) dreams with no-stress or frustration! Better yet, TechBox support is available at any time to help with questions you may have.

Meet Girls Who Code

GWC Hackathon

As part of our mission, we give back by making a donation for each individual purchase. Through donating a portion of each purchase, we are working to bring STEM education to under-served students in communities across the United States and around the world. It is our goal to eliminate the racial, gender, and socioeconomic gap in STEM fields by providing each student with the resources and opportunities they need to generate new ideas and the technologies of tomorrow.

Girls Who Code is a non-profit organization on a mission to close the gender gap in technology and to change the image of what a programmer looks like and does. In 1995, 37% of computer scientists were women. Today, it’s only 24%. The percent will continue to decline if nothing is done. The biggest drop off of girls in computer science is between the ages of 13 and 17. Through their programs, they counteract this drop off and are building the largest pipeline of future female engineers in the United States and are on track to close the gender gap in new entry-level tech jobs by 2030. Program participants are majoring in computer science at top universities across the US, while over 20 major companies have pledged to hire Girls Who Code alumni. Over 40,000 girls have participated in their programs and counting!
